Report on the opening ceremony of the museum “Expectation” of missing persons of conflicts for Georgia’s territorial integrity

Within the framework of the project “Yellow Tulips” on September 27, 2004 the fund “Expectation” of the families of missing persons of the Abkhazian war, in the territory of the common grave of missing persons, organized the opening ceremony of the museum “Expectation” of victims and missing persons of the war for territorial integrity.

More than 150 relatives of missing persons attended the opening. Also Avtandil Ioseliani, the chairperson of the State Commission on finding missing citizens, representatives of HCA Georgian National Committee participated in the opening ceremony of the museum. Avtandil Ioseliani and Tornike Andriadze, the cousin of missing Konstantin Andriadze, solemnly cut the ribbon.

Some of the exhibits shown in the museum were specially made for the museum.
There were as well exhibits offered by relatives:
• albums with photos of missing persons of Gagra, Babusher,
• an album with the photos of missing Abkhazian soldiers of the whole Abkhazia,
• an album with the names and surnames of missing civilians,
• a stand with photos how the Digom common grave was built
• a unique map of Georgia with sites of where there are missing persons of the armed conflicts of Georgia,
• a separate room with personal belongings: sport clothing, national costumes, medals and certificates of honour that were awarded to them during sport events, festivals, etc.
There is a book for impressions where those who want can put down their impressions and wishes for the relatives of missing persons.

The representatives of HCA GNC took photos and filmed the ceremony; the video materials will be used for making a documentary on “Missing Persons”.
